A Practical Half-Day for Adult Social Care Leaders

Tue 10 Nov 2026 8:45 AM - 1:30 PM Nexus, University of Leeds, Discovery Way Leeds, LS2 3AA

How can Adult Social Care use AI to improve access and reduce administrative burden, while keeping professional judgement, safeguarding and accountability with people?

Councils are facing rising demand, assessment waits, workforce pressure, duplicated information and persistent digital exclusion. AI is moving fast. The question for leaders is not "What can AI do?" but where it genuinely adds value, what safeguards it needs, and where human judgement must stay central.

This half-day brings together Adult Social Care leaders, commissioners, practitioners and NHS colleagues to examine that question. It includes independent speakers, a challenge panel, and a live demonstration of EquiCare®, an AI-enabled platform developed by JGME Consulting for front-door and Care Act assessment workflows.

Speakers to be announced soon.

Why it's worth your morning

  • See it working, not just on slides. Follow one person's journey through an AI-supported front door, live, from first contact to practitioner sign-off.
  • Know where AI belongs and where it doesn't. Get a clear-eyed view of which front-door tasks AI can support, and which decisions must stay with professionals.
  • Take away an AI governance checklist. It sets out the questions your DPO, information governance and safeguarding leads will ask, and what good answers look like.
  • Put your hardest questions to the panel. Test the case for AI with practitioner, governance and lived-experience voices before your organisation commits time or money.
  • Leave with a realistic route to a pilot. Learn what a proportionate discovery, pilot and evaluation involves: the governance steps, the timescales and the exit points.
  • Compare notes with peers. Meet Adult Social Care leaders from across Yorkshire who are facing the same pressures.

CPD: All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance confirming approximately 3 hours of learning. You can use it as evidence for your professional CPD records, including Social Work England registration. This event is not formally CPD-accredited.

About EquiCare®: EquiCare® is an AI-enabled platform developed by JGME Consulting to support councils in England at the front door of adult social care under the Care Act 2014. It provides 24/7 multilingual intake and triage, safeguarding flags for practitioner review, and a digital scribe for statutory assessments. It is built on one principle: AI supports the process; people remain responsible for professional judgement and decisions. EquiCare® runs on Microsoft Azure UK West and is available to councils through G-Cloud 15. We welcome challenge on both its potential and its limitations.

Registration: Free. Places are limited and prioritised for professionals working in or alongside Adult Social Care, local government and the NHS. The venue is fully accessible; please tell us about any access or dietary needs when you register. Questions: Ava Wilson, ava.dwilson@jgmeconsulting.com
